Alta Vita Cannonau di Sardegna 2023

Andy Says: A brand new bargain from Sardinia (Sardegna) has just arrived @Metro. Cannonau is the island's signature red grape genetically identical to Grenache, though I would would not recommend mentioning that if you are ever in Sardinia! When DNA testing revealed the connection in the 1990s, it ruffled more than a few feathers among locals who had long considered the grape uniquely Sardinian. This version is approachable, juicy and extremely food friendly. Expect flavors of black cherry, tobacco, strawberry and tart currant. A perfect pairing for any tomato based dish. And at 13.5%ALC, this is a bottle for dinner.
