Unlitro is made from grapes grown without synthetic pesticides, fertilizers and herbicides in the vineyard. Certified in the country of origin. Winemakers often present crowd-pleaser wine in liter bottles as the wines are intended for sharing. Ampeleia is a winery in the Maremma region of Tuscany, where biodynamic farming and low intervention winemaking are practiced. Their vines share the estate with livestock, olives, and forests. Biodiversity is known to make healthy soils and, hence, better wines. Ampeleia is made from non-native varietals of Grenache, Cab Franc, Carignan, and Mourvedre. Aromas and flavors of red fruit, violet flowers, and minerals are pronounced. Concrete aging gives the wine its soft edges. The light, dusty tannins and low alcohol even make this bottle "afternoon appropriate." Give it a chill.
