Ancient Peaks Zinfandel 2023

Andy Says: "This has been one of my favorite Zinfandels to recommend for years. I gravitate towards it whenever a customer asks for a Zin that is "big but not too big." The grapes here come from the Santa Margarita Ranch, a single vineyard in Paso Robles that, unlike most of burning hot Paso Robles, has a direct line to the Pacific Ocean's cool breezes that keeps the grapes from getting too hot and preserves the acidity in the wine. Ancient Peak's Zinfandel is big and bold, with more structure than just a runaway jammy fruit bomb and a pleasant acidic lift that makes the wine suitable with a variety of foods or solo. Expect flavors of plum, blackberry, blue raspberry and pepper and even a little earth."
