Andy Says: "A long-lost favorite returns! Casanuova delle Cerbaie is a small Brunello producer known for aging their wines longer than most estates and for charging far less than they probably should. Their Rosso di Montalcino is basically a "Baby Brunello" - lifted and aromatic, with red cherry, tobacco, leather, spice and sunbaked earth. classic Montalcino character without the Brunello price tag." 2019. 13.5ALC.
The Winery: Casanuova delle Cerbaie began its winemaking journey in the early 1980s, inspired by a German woman who loved Italy and its wines. After purchasing the old estate, she carefully restored it and began producing her first wine. Over the years, her constant commitment to quality has led to significant results, such that the 1998 Brunello di Montalcino vintage ranked 27th in Wine Spectator's prestigious list of the 100 best wines in the world.
