Andy Says: "This wine has only been in shop a few weeks and I am struggling to keep it on the shelf. Every week I find myself increasing my supply to keep up with demand. Why is a $19 Chardonnay so popular? The answer lies in where it comes from. Christophe Patrice is a 4th generation winemaker in Chablis farming 22 hectares of vines in Chablis and Petit Chablis. Christophe also owns vineyards just outside the official boundaries of Chablis-close enough to share the same cool climate and limestone soils, but just not close enough to claim the Chablis name. This is the wine he makes from those vineyards. In other words, it's essentially a declassified Chablis made by an experienced and recognized French Chablis producer for less than $20. Expect classic Chablis flavors of tart lemon, green apple, white flowers, chalk, gunflint and a refreshing saline finish. True Chablis under $20 has become impossible to find these days. This wine is CLOSE!"
