Andy Says: "Jura is located at the foot of the Alps in Eastern France, near the Swiss Border, and is known for eclectic and often funky tasting wines which are sometimes oxidized. They are probably known best for their Chardonnays and fortified Vin Jaune. The reds are even harder to find than the whites but are sought out and bought, by the people who love them. It has taken me years to find a bottle of pure Poulsard, my favorite Jura Red, and this one from Domaine Rolet is extremely light in body, with an almost orange-red brick color, a nose of smoke and leather and flavors of sour berries, tangy strawberries, orange zest and an almost mushroomy, umami savoriness that is truly unique. A real taste treat for those who appreciate interesting wines."
