    Andy Says: "In addition to old Riesling, one of my favorite wines is Northern Rhône Syrah. While the grape has, by design, the potential to be an 18 wheeler (see below) this French Syrah is restrained and elegant combining structure and power with surprising finesse. Unfortunately, Northern Rhône wines are rarely inexpensive, which is why I love taking advantage of close outs! This biodynamic Syrah would regularly retail for about $55, but I scioed a small parcel at a significant discount. (my Poker Face finally came in handy!) Expect flavors of black current, tart plum, black tea, violet, lavender, cracked pepper and bacon fat. Drink now with a 30-45 minute decant and pair with mushrooms, duck or steak."
