Andy Says: "Arneis nearly disappeared when Barolo regulations shifted to requiring a bottle so marked to be 100% Nebbiolo. Historically, a splash of Arneis was sometimes blended to soften the fierce tannins. Once that practice ended, grape growers ripped out much of the varietal in favor of Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto. Thankfully, Arneis has made a strong comeback world wide and remains, as it has been since we opened our doors, a MetroWines customer favorite. Crisp and mineral driven, with citrus, tart apple, and a subtle waxy texture on the finish making it a smooth and very versatile food wine."
