Unlike Beaujolais Nouveau, this Villages bottling is fermented traditionally and given a year of aging before release giving more depth and polish. Expect lively flavors of red raspberry, cranberry, tart strawberry, and a subtle herbal note. Made by a 5th generation family just outside Morgon, hand-harvested, certified organic and Biodynamic. At $22, it's everything you want for a holiday table: light, charming, impossible not to love!
Bodillard: The vineyards are planted on the rolling hills around Morgon, in granitic and schist soils ideal for Gamay. Vines are 20-100 years old, bringing a variety of unique aromas to each wine. Once in the winery, the grapes are carefully put into concrete vats or oak barrels for whole grape carbonic maceration. Fermentation is spontaneous with native yeasts and the wines are aged in carefully selected French oak vats and barrels.
